Opportunities abroad

Primarily Arab and Islamic regions have been one of the most misunderstood areas in the world. Study, intern, and research abroad programs provide students with the opportunity to better understand this amazing part of the world through unique firsthand language, cultural immersion, academic, and career building experiences.

Featured program

Arabic/Islamic Culture and Literature study abroad program, Kuwait, Arabian Gulf, Middle East

The “Arabic/Islamic Culture and Literature in Kuwait” program is hosted by the American University of Kuwait. The program takes students on a two week, three-credit, learning excursion to Kuwait City, the capital of the State of Kuwait, in the gulf region of the Middle East. Kuwait is one of the most vibrant, attractive cities in an otherwise conservative region. Focusing on the experiences of ordinary people in the Middle East, the program conveys a grassroots sense of regional culture and society.

NOTE: The next offering of this program is not yet determined. Please contact Dr. Souad T. Ali (souad.ali@asu.edu, 480-965-4586) regarding your interest in the program and for more information on future dates.
